Restored American of Martinsville Drop Leaf Writing Desk
$700
Having undergone full restoration, this desk is part of American of Martinsville’s notable “Accord” collection from the 1960’s, conceptualized by renowned designer Merton Gershun. Abounding with mid-mod charisma, this is an open-concept desk with a finished back that can “float” anywhere, allowing its clean profile and slender lines to be appreciated from any direction.Â
With signature accent X-shaped metal inlays and offset drawer pulls, the Accord line showcases rich walnut veneers atop solid legs and supports, and a small drop leaf extends the writing surface an additional 14-inches.Â
*Gershun designed some of the earliest modern furniture lines available in the States, and helped transition from traditional lighter woods to the richer dark woods that were popular throughout the mid-century.*
