Lane Waterfall Cedar Chest

This large vintage cedar chest offers an abundance of storage space for blankets, linens, photo albums, or keepsakes.  This cedar chest was designed and manufactured by Lane on August 22, 1944 in Virginia.  Born from a consumer market that hungered for affordable yet stylish furniture, the Art Deco influence on waterfall furniture is undeniable.  The graceful curves, extraordinary grain patterns, and ornate details make this distinctive style still desirable today. There is no furniture style more evocative of 1920s–1940s furniture than waterfall.  The floral and stripe design with metallic champagne accents complements the beautiful wood grain and will be a beautiful statement piece in your home.  New lid hinges, feet, applique and side handles have been added.   The cedar interior has been lightly sanded and conditioned.  It would be a perfect fit in the master or guest bedroom, either at the foot of a bed or against a wall.
